1. Check not received from Burger King yet. Corporate BK says check was cut December 20th but no one knows where it is. Local BK will be contacted.
2. Holiday Concert Series was a great success. Refreshments were served after each performance and the students seemed to really enjoy the social time (and food!). A total of $465.30 was collected. We still have 10 cases of soda leftover - we plan to use it for March concert.
3. Treasurer's report - current balance is $490.55. Tax ID number received but IRS told us we need to apply for non-profit status. We expect that will cost $150. Jennifer is attempting to contact other music booster clubs for assistance in paperwork and application process.
4. Winnicutt High School may be selling their acoustic stage shells. Jennifer is communicating with them and if they are in fact going to sell them, Eric Kobb will inspect them to ensure they are what we're looking for. It could be a great savings.
5. A scholarship request has been made for a student to continue music lessons that requires financial assistance. The group decided this was a request we would like to fund and Eric would keep us informed.
6. Next fundraiser is Little Caesar's Pizza Kits. Several people have had experience with this product and speak positively about it. We'll get a specific delivery date set for late March (suggested Friday March 28) and hope to distribute information to all music students during the week after vacation. Eric said the music teachers could collect the forms/money from students but the club would need to do all the paperwork. We're researching awarding a trinket toy to each student who sells a pizza kit to encourage participation. Next meeting will focus on getting this activity organized. For more info, check out their website.
7. Sam's Club Cookout fundraiser was booked for Saturday May 3rd. It requires at least four adults at all times and kids are helpful for handing out flyers, playing music, and recruiting appetites. We decided to work 9am - 5pm and pray for good weather. Sam's club will donate matching funds later in the year (aren't they fabulous?).
8. Much discussion was held about what we could do for the CMS Music Students directly and nothing concrete was decided. We discussed parties, picnics, the Canobie Lake trip, trinkets, popsicles, cookies, etc. We will continue the discussion at a future date - food for thought.
9. Next meeting is Wednesday February 19th at 7:00 pm.
