Next Fundraiser is Little Caesar's Pizza Kit Sales. Sue Engle is primary contact and established a delivery date of Friday April 4. She created a sample flyer that will be attached to the order forms and the music teachers will hold group sessions of students to explain the sales and pass out the order forms. Order forms must be returned by March 14th. The fundraiser may cross with the PTO's magazine drive so we shortened the cutoff date. We're hoping each family purchases at least one kit!
Next concert is Thursday March 20 - Chamber Choir and Wind Ensemble. Cathy Hammon will go through parent sign-up sheets from December to get contacts for baked goods for that concert. We have soda leftover from last concert.
A Bluegrass concert is being held in the Meehan Auditorium on March 21st. They asked if we would like to provide refreshments. It is a day that there is no school, but several music students are attending a performance. We decided that we didn't have enough time and resources to handle the request this time. It would have been a good opportunity to raise some money, but the timing wasn't right.
We discussed other fundraising opportunities. The Entertainment Book was discussed but we decided not to do that this year. A dress-down day for teachers was discussed and we decided not to do it now. A Community Musical Chairs event was discussed. We decided it would be better to do it after school hours and combine it with an Ice Cream Social. We set a date of Thursday June 12.
Eric Kobb spoke with the group about the CMS Music Lab. Last year they received $18,000 from the Robinson Trust Fund and they were hoping for a sizable donation again this year. The Robinson Trust Fund has decided to grant the music lab $3500 this year. CMS was hoping to purchase 8 more music stations and a sound board this year. They will sacrifice the music stations but hope to find other sources of funding the sound board, which costs $8,500. We decided this was a good location for this year's money raised.
