The meeting was begun at 7:05 by Jennifer Ramsay.
New Business:
Eric Kobb, band director at CMS, spoke briefly about plans for the 2002-2003 School year. The Music Boosters were defined as a group of parents that provide advocacy and support for the music program, including fundraising, public relations and advertising, as well as providing a base membership for the EHS Music Boosters Club. The Boosters will not attempt to develop or direct curriculum.
Discussion held regarding staff “wish list”. The two “big ticket” items needed most were Acoustic Shells and continued funding of the Music Lab. Scholarships for SYMS were also discussed. After discussion, the group voted to raise funds for Acoustic Shells. This will be the primary goal of the Boosters this year, as well as providing and/or selling refreshments after concerts.
Discussion held on various fund-raising methods. Several parents agreed to bring additional information to next meeting on fundrasers.

The Next Meeting will be Wednesday, October 16th, 2002, at 7:00 in the CMS bandroom. The main agenda item will be fundraising methods.
