Question 1 - EKS - What do you like about this school?
Topic 1 - Administration
Supportive (1) Having a principal who challenges my thinking and strives for excellence.
Topic 2 - Community/Parents
Supportive (4) Parents make us feel their children are very fortunate to be here. We have autonomy as teachers to achieve results in whatever way yields student success.
Topic 3 - School
Atmosphere (4) Warm, supportive and caring
Friendly (4) Warm and caring environment that allows children and staff to achieve their personal best.
Size (9) Small size - know every child and most parents
  Small class size
Topic 4 - Staff
Friendly (4) The teachers are kind to one another and really care.
Teachers greet kids with a smile.
Topic 5 - Students
Friendly (1) The people here are very nice and work together as a team. People are always willing to offer a helping hand.
Positive (4) Kids are joyous about work
Topic 6 - Teaching
Flexibility (1) Variety of teaching styles
Technology (1) The availability of technology

Question 2 - What do you wish was different at this school?
Topic 1 - Academic
Assessment (1) Less pressure for students to achieve to standards that may not be developmentally appropriate for them as individuals.
Curriculum (1) We seem to be receiving more tasks that are diverting our energies from the students and the classroom.
Topic 2 - School
Communication (5) More communication between teachers and staff. Better communication between grades.
I wish teachers were more open to working together across grade levels and were more willing to try new things.
Size (1) As we grow larger, I worry that the harmony will continue.
Topic 3 - Staff
  Morale (1) Morale needs boosting.
Topic 4 - Teaching
Time (3) More time for teachers to work with students on academics.
That there weren't so many demands on our time.
I wish people were more willing to step out of their comfort zone. Some teachers embrace the concept of "letting go" of familiar practices that may need "tweaking". Others are more rigid. This school has such a history of administrative change, people have tended to not "worry" about what they are doing because no one stays long enough to follow through. People are very much into their own classroom program vs. coordination with others.
