NES Student Survey Methodology
All students were
surveyed at NES
Population size:
99 students
Return rate:
96 = 97.0%
Confidence interval: .6
Confidence level:
95%
Confidence interval and confidence level explained:
We can be 95% sure that the true percentage of the population that would pick the same answer is + or – .6. For example: If 80% of the respondents selected “strongly agree” when asked if the current NES facility is well maintained, we can be 95% sure that between 79.4% and 80.6% of all NES students would have selected this same answer.
About this survey:
The survey used in this research was developed by the staff
of "Education for the Future" based at California State University,
Chico. Education for the Future is directed by Dr. Victoria
Bernhardt who holds degrees in psychology and statistics. Well
over one million surveys have been administered by the "Education for
the Future" staff. Additionally, school districts all over the country
have also administered this survey to parents, staff, and
students. "Education for the Future" does not provide reliability
or validity statistics (although this information may be available in
the near future due to the popularity of the instrument). The questions
are based on sound educational research that identifies the
characteristics of high performing schools. Additionally, the
"Education to the Future" staff has continually monitored and improved
the survey during the last decade of use. For more information
