SPECIAL BRENTWOOD SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

Monday, May 25, 2006, 6:30 p.m.

Swasey Central School

 

Members Present:    Anne Marie Chesno, Chair; Virginia Knutson, Vice-Chair; Elizabeth Faria; and, Tim Hannan

 

Administration Present:  Jerry Frew, Assistant Superintendent; Joan Ostrowski, Principal;

 

Others Present:       

 

 

1.    Chair Chesno called the meeting to order at 6:31 p.m.

Everyone joined in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. 

 

2.    Non-public session

The Board did not enter into non-public session.

 

3.  Flood Make-up Days

The SAU Joint Boards, at the June 22, 2006 meeting, made the decision that the students last day of school for the 05-06 year would be Friday, June 16, 2006.  The Brentwood Board discussed a variety of options for the end of year schedule for the staff.  Assistant Superintendent Frew shared information about what other SAU Boards have decided.   

 

MOTION – J. Hannan moved that the Brentwood professional staff complete their 185 day contract by participating in a full-day professional staff development session on Monday, June 19, 2006, fulfilling their obligation to close up their classrooms on June 20, 2006, and completing seven hours of Principal approved independent professional development prior to August 25, 2006.  This discretionary time is not precedent setting in terms of the contract; V. Knutson seconded.  Vote – Unanimous.

 

4. Adjournment

MOTION – T. Hannan moved that the Brentwood School Board Meeting adjourn at 6:55 p.m.; L. Faria seconded.   Vote - Unanimous
