5 PM Tour of New High School
Present: Victor Sokul, Ben Allen, Joanne Pare, Sam Bruno, Vicky Avery, Angela Lennox, Roy Morrisette, Bill Thompson, Anne Plumer-Fisher, Holly Tisdall, Robin Scott, Liz Faria, Ellen Cooke, Christine Coronis

Vic greeted everyone in the parking lot and gave out hard hats. He also introduced the newest member of the committee Christine Cornois from E. Kingston. A folder of handouts was given to all members. Vic asked committee if there were any objections to the next meeting being 10/13 (Yom Kipper Day) and everyone was okay with the date. Walter Pierce guided the 1 ½ hour tour and also gave everyone a floor plan handout.
At the end of the tour Vic stated the folders they received tonight have some information for reading regarding high school reform, an interesting article from Newsweek about the top 100 high schools in America, etc. He also noted the next meeting on 10/13 there would be two speakers, Russ Holden, Prospect Mountain High School and Pat Corbin, Nashua North High School who will talk about their experiences moving into new high schools. They will also talk about how they manage students within their building as well as the small learning community concept. Vic wants the committee to hear about their experiences so that their lessons learned will be passed on to us.
Vic said that at the meeting scheduled for 10/27 we will have George Edwards of Bow High School who will be talking about his experiences moving into his new building.
