ADMINISTRATION PRESENT: Arthur Hanson, Walter

Chair Cushman opened the meeting at 6:00 PM. The following agenda items were discussed and/or acted on by the committee.
1. Update on Linden Street Re-Use Recommendations: Chair gave everyone a copy of Linda Henderson’s remarks from the Deliberative Session. Decided to give full board a copy of her report to read and ponder for June goal setting session. Walter will prepare a map of the area for that discussion in June.
2. Progress
of new High School: Walter presented an overview of progress at EHS site. Air
conditioning change order still in flux since awaiting a final estimate for
including cafeteria, health rooms and weight room. Some changes have been made
in stadium configuration. Concession stand will be located under grandstand
rather than as a separate out building. Maintenance building will also be
moved to allow for a seating berm behind the goal post on the north end.
Technology bids are on next week that will cover infrastructure and equipment
for all communications (telephones, clock, PA, intercom, etc.) as well as
security (closed circuit TV, intrusion detection, access, etc.). Dick and
Walter are also working on keying (will probably be done by program areas) and
the furniture budget.
The librarian, Mary Ingham, has been working hard to create the “perfect HS
library”. Her practical knowledge of a working library has been very helpful
to the architects. Thank you Mary!
Department of Transportation has said we must have two lanes in and two lanes
out at the entrance to Route 27. We are still hoping for signalization. Room
“found” under auditorium seating is being put to good use for storage and an
enlarged concession stand and bookstore.
Lucy shared her early Tuesday visit to the site. Still is a bit behind because
of snow, but they are staying just ahead of roofers and masons. Brick work
that wasn’t scheduled to start until May is well under way and the pattern is
very attractive. The view from the art room was worth the climb up over the
foundation for the auditorium seating.
3. From the Floor: At CMS, Dick Wendell is planning some carpet replacement and lots of painting for this summer, part of our constant maintenance battle. Work will also be done at the high school in the atrium and we will begin an overhaul of the HVAC units at SST.
Meeting adjourned.
