EAST KINGSTON SCHOOL DISTRICT WARRANT

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

 

 

TO THE INHABITANTS OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF THE TOWN OF EAST KINGSTON, COUNTY OF ROCKINGHAM, STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE, QUALIFIED TO VOTE UPON DISTRICT AFFAIRS:

 

You have hereby been notified to meet at the East Kingston Elementary School in said District on SATURDAY, THE FIFTH DAY OF MARCH 2005, AT 1:00 PM to act upon the following subjects:

 

1.                  To see if the School District will vote to raise and appropriate the sum of $2,168,620 for the support of the schools, for the payment of salaries for the school district officials and agents, and for the payment of statutory obligations of the District.  (The School Board recommends this appropriation.)

 

2.                  To see if the School District will vote to approve the cost items included in the collective bargaining agreement reached between the East Kingston School Board and the East Kingston Teachers Association covering the five year period from September 1, 2005 to August 31, 2010 which call for the following increases in salaries and benefits:

and further to raise and appropriate the sum of FIFTY THREE THOUSAND, SEVEN HUNDRED SIXTY DOLLARS ($53,760) for the 2005-2006 fiscal year, such sum representing the additional costs attributable to the increase in salaries and benefits over those of the appropriation at current staffing levels paid in the prior fiscal year.  (The School Board recommends this appropriation.)

 

3.                  Shall the East Kingston School District, if Article Two is defeated, authorize the governing body to call one special meeting, at its option, to address Article Two cost items only?

 

4.                  Shall the School District establish an expendable trust fund under the provisions of RSA 198:20-c, to be known as the Maintenance Fund, for the purpose of funding unanticipated maintenance expenses, and name the School Board as agents to expend from said trust fund, and raise and appropriate to said fund the sum of FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000)?  (The School Board recommends this appropriation.)

5.                  Shall the School District raise and appropriate the sum of the amount of the June 30, 2005 undesignated fund balance (surplus) up to FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($50,000), such sum to be placed in the Capital Reserve Fund previously established at the 1997 School District Meeting for the purpose of future building expansion?  (The School Board recommends this appropriation.)

 

6.                  Shall the School District raise and appropriate EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($80,000) which is the estimated increase between the 2000-2001 and the anticipated 2005-2006 Adequate Education Grant; such sum to be placed in the Capital Reserve Fund previously established at the 1997 School District Meeting for the purpose of future building expansion?  (The School Board recommends this appropriation.)

 

7.                  To hear reports of agents, auditors, and committees or officers heretofore chosen and to pass any vote relating there to.

 

8.                  To transact any business that may come before this meeting.
