Policy Committee Meeting Minutes

Present:  Skip Hanson, Patty Lovejoy, Patrick O’Day, John Maxwell, Dave Miller, Mike Price, Jim Dubela        and Kim Martin

Special Guests:  Pat Dowey, Jean Tucker 

 

1.       Review of policy IHBAB Special Education Evaluations – Pat Dowey, Jean Tucker

Jean Tucker requested that all policies show where they originated from, whether with the NHSBA, or thru the policy committee with input from attorneys at the policy committee request. Going forward we will do this and we will have to back into doing the policies already approved maybe over the Summer.

 

2.       New Policies:

-         GBGBA  Use of Automated External Defibrillators – Approved w/ minor changes

-         IMG  Animals in School – Approved w/ minor changes

-         JEB  Age of Entrance (review) – Approved w/ minor changes

 

3.       Pending items: 

 

DFA-R Investment of School District Funds Procedures – Nathan to provide status. Did not address this policy.  He has given us some information regarding this policy (on-going).

 

JKAA - Physical Restraint Policy – Approved w/ minor changes.

 

            ILBA – Assessments – Ongoing

 

            IJNDB - Technology Integration – Approved

 

           IKF- Graduation Requirements – Vic/Tom are reviewing and will provide status by June.

 

GCR - Non-School Employment by Professional Staff Members - Vic/Tom are reviewing and will provide status by June.

 

            GCRC - Professional Personnel Consulting - Vic/Tom are reviewing and will provide status by June.

 

JICJ - Unauthorized Communication Devices - Vic/Tom are reviewing and will provide status by June. Tom would like any mention of consequences taken out and to leave that to the discretion of the administrators.

 

IHAMC- HIV/AIDS Policy - Stratham is currently the only board with this policy in place

          Policy committee decided awhile ago to treat this policy like any other policy that is covered by Universal Precautions.

 

EBCF - Pandemic/Epidemic Emergencies – Nurses to provide status.

 

               JLCC - Communicable Diseases & JLCC-R - Nurses to provide status.

 

JLCA - Physical Examination of Students - Nurses to provide status.

 

4.       Nutrition Nuggets:  Tammy Martin of NH Healthy Schools Coalition will be creating a "NH" version    of Nutrition Nuggets for next school year for less money. – Pending

 

5.       Three year review of policies.  How do we want to proceed with this?  - Need to split up into groups and tackle them over time.
