*Eighth Grade Course Selection Process (Course Selection Sheets distributed March 3 -
due in CMS Guidance March 19, 2008)
- includes recommendations from Eighth Grade teachers
*Move-Up Day
- includes visit to the high school
- includes student panel for question & answer session
- includes activities fair of all activities and athletics offered at EHS
(Tentative schedules distributed mid-June, usually prior to the last day of school)
*Freshman Orientation Day (Half day, no upperclassmen)
- includes tour of building
- includes introduction to homeroom, assignment of locker, etc.
- includes introduction to Freshman Advisor
- includes administration of the Multiple Intelligence Survey
- includes receiving and following a shortened schedule
- includes a free pizza lunch
*Guidance Counselors are Partnered with Freshman English Teachers
- includes at least one visit to the English class so Counselors and students have an opportunity to get to know each other
*Guidance Counselor visits to Freshman English may continue
*Freshman Parents Dialogue Night (1 hour prior to Open House)
*Guidance Counselors' Second Visit to Freshman English classes
*Guidance Counselors' Third & Fourth Visits to Freshman English classes & begin the Course Selection process for the following school year
