American Sign Language Tutor - SAU 16

The Exeter School District is looking for a full-time Special Education Tutor. 35 hours a week for the Developmental Preschool. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in American Sign Language and Applied Behavior Analysis protocols. The tutor's role is to communicate, implement and follow through with the classroom teacher with regards to the student instruction and management to promote full inclusion.

The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Become familiar with student’s preschool curriculum, and support full-inclusion with American Sign Language.
  • Become familiar with student’s behavior management program and plan proactivity with the preschool team to support inclusion.
  • Implement IEP accommodations under the special educator’s and classroom teacher’s direction.

Kensington Elementary is seeking a dynamic educator who is knowledgeable about Competency Based Education, NH College and Career Ready Standards and current mathematical research. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting classroom teachers in coordinating assessments to identify those students in grades 3-5 who are eligible for intervention services
  • Developing targeted intervention programs and schedules for students
  • Providing direct instruction to students to target math deficiencies
  • Coordinating progress monitoring probes to ensure interventions are working
  • Working collaboratively with teachers to identify areas of needed professional development
  • Coaching and/or providing resources or strategies to address curriculum and instructional needs
  • Collecting, analyzing and reporting individual, grade level and building-wide math data to determine trends in teaching and learning
  • Representing KES at SAU Math Curriculum Committees

The position is an hourly part-time with a maximum of 32 hours/week. Experience working at the elementary level is preferred. Candidates must be eligible for NH Elementary Certification.
